Rockaby Mommy?

Okay, 'silly rabbit, tricks may very well be for kids,' but when it comes down to lullabies, babies aren't the only ones benefiting from the soothing melodies. Ever try calming a baby with a song, except, you end up sleepier than the baby? It's the Lullaby Effect.

When your mind is in overload and the tension band around your head starts to tighten it's grip, instead of reaching for the aspirin, try singing yourself a good-ole'-fashion lullaby. Oh, don't give me that face, it really works!

Fine, don't take my word for it; try it out for yourself. The next time you're feeling stressed, angry, frustrated or restless, find yourself a quiet room, massage your temples in a circular motion, and start a' singing. I'm not talking about a 1979 Micheal Jackson song, I'm talking about a lullaby.

Pick one that's slow and smooth and not so disco-ish. Once you start to feel the effects of the lullaby, you'll also feel the tension band loosening its grip.

This technique serves as a remedy for countless other situations. If you're in the middle of an argument, stop, and use the lullaby effect. The other person might stop and look at you as if you've completely lost your mind, but that's okay, cause at least they've stopped.

This technique even works to prevent an argument. Instead of opening your mouth to yell or fuss, let the first word be a song. The more relaxed you are, the better you'll be able to deal with the situation calmly. If you forget to walk the dog and he walks himself (right over to the center of the living room floor) and leaves you a tip, use the lullaby effect. When the kids misbehave and start a circus in the backseat of the car, don't forget the lullaby effect.

Whatever it is that makes you stressed, just remember that it's not worth the damage it causes in the long run. You deserve to be happy and peaceful, so take steps to ensure you get what you deserve. Your life and your future depend on it. Create a lifetime of living for yourself by canceling out the stress-effect by using the Lullaby-Effect.
